The Deputy Chairman of the Parliament's Energy Committee stated that the recent decision made by the Economic Council paves the way for accelerating the implementation of the national project to increase pressure in the South Pars field.
South Pars pressure increase project will accelerate
Faregh Shahraki noted in an interview with Shana that considering delays in the project's execution is illogical and incorrect. He emphasized that the Parliament's Energy Committee constantly monitors the progress of the project, possessing full information, and that the continuous and diligent efforts of the oil and gas industry, particularly Pars Oil and Gas Company, are evident.
Shahraki highlighted the effective interaction between the Ministry of Oil and Parliament, which includes responding to questions and addressing issues raised by members of the Energy Committee, as well as holding numerous meetings between the two parties. He stressed the need to utilize existing capacities to compensate for past setbacks, expecting that the recent approval of the pressure increase project by the Economic Council will serve as a starting point for accelerating its execution.
The Deputy Chairman of the Parliament's Energy Committee added that proper synergy has formed in recent weeks among contractors, Pars Oil and Gas Company, the Ministry of Oil, and Parliament, with the participation of other influential structures. Thanks to this, it is hoped that some of the delays will be compensated for, and the project implementation process will move faster.
Shahraki also spoke about the importance of countering the pressure decline in the South Pars reservoir. He assured that the Parliament's Energy Committee will support the executive body of the pressure increase project and expressed hope that the project's implementation will be a successful and effective experience for the country's industry.
According to him, one of the key aspects of this project is the ability to mobilize the potential of various industrial sectors of the country. This will allow small, medium, and large enterprises to participate in equipment supply and the implementation of different parts of the project by injecting financial resources and gaining experience in participating in the national project.
The Deputy Chairman of the Energy Commission continued that besides economic benefits and creating additional value in the production chain, the implementation of this project can contribute to job creation and entrepreneurship development. Furthermore, it can create conditions for the formation and development of new knowledge and technologies in the country, as well as strengthen the state's technical and engineering capabilities in this area.
