According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, in 2025 the country produced approximately 1.40 million tons of cotton fiber, which allowed it to secure fifth place among the six largest producers participating in the comparative analysis.
The Ministry published these figures using international data for the 2025/26 agricultural year and national production results for Uzbekistan in 2025. To ensure data comparability between countries, production volumes were converted to a single unit of measurement—cotton fiber.
In the published report, China led the ranking with 7.79 million tons, followed by India with 5.18 million tons, Brazil with 4.08 million tons, and the United States with 3.03 million tons. Uzbekistan took fifth place with approximately 1.40 million tons, surpassing Pakistan, where production was estimated at 1.15 million tons.
The Ministry of Agriculture reported that in 2025, raw materials were harvested from 875,600 hectares in Uzbekistan. The total harvest amounted to 3.986 million tons. With a fiber yield of 35%, this volume corresponds to approximately 1.40 million tons of cotton fiber.
The ministry noted that factors such as crop yields, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, organization of agricultural work, and farmers' labor influence cotton production. The sector's priorities are not only increasing the total harvest volume but also improving yield per hectare, enhancing fiber quality, and increasing processing efficiency.
Another important direction is the development of the entire value chain—from cotton cultivation to the release of finished products.
