Uzbek Teenager Returned to Country After Reporting Violence in Turkey

A 17-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who reported forced marriage, physical violence, and forced labor in Turkey, has been returned to Uzbekistan with the assistance of the country's Consulate General in Istanbul and the Migration Fund.

According to the consulate, the girl was taken to Turkey under the pretext of studying. She later sought help from the diplomatic mission, reporting the violence she experienced and attempts to force her into marriage.

The Consulate General involved lawyers and provided her with consular and legal support. Thanks to the help of the Migration Fund, she was able to return to Uzbekistan. Currently, relevant organizations are monitoring her safety conditions and providing social, legal, and psychological protection.

Citizens of Uzbekistan working abroad who face violence, forced labor, humiliation, or serious financial difficulties are advised to seek assistance from diplomatic missions and relevant organizations.

Over 74 thousand Uzbek citizens received state compensation for international test expenses

State compensation for international examination fees was provided in Uzbekistan to over 74 thousand young citizens. This support measure is aimed at youth and young women who have demonstrated high results on such tests.

The total amount of reimbursed expenses amounted to 151 billion soums, which was paid to 74,102 participants. Most recipients of the compensation were young women, receiving payments totaling 38,503 people, while 35,599 were young men.

Approximately 80 percent of beneficiaries belong to the age group of 14 to 23 years old. The IELTS exam was the most popular among young people, with over 54 thousand participants receiving reimbursement totaling more than 125 billion soums. Additionally, over 9 thousand people received compensation for taking the SAT test.

Distribution of Payments by Region

Regional analysis showed that the largest volume of payments was allocated in Tashkent, where 24,216 people received compensation amounting to 51.1 billion soums. Following this is the Fergana region, which served 5,962 recipients for 11.6 billion soums. Significant payments were also made in Bukhara region (5,948 participants, 11.9 billion soums), Samarkand region (5,529 citizens, 11.2 billion soums), and Namangan region (5,328 young people, 10.7 billion soums).
