How Children's Questions Stimulate Innovation in Educational Programs

In the STEAM MakersLab at Microland, students find inspiration for creating innovations by observing the world around them. A system capable of detecting elephants and warning nearby villages was developed during a routine walk on the premises where elephants live.

Sunflowers also served as a source of inspiration for creating a solar tracker. The problem of early detection of pest outbreaks in tea plantations led to the creation of a technological solution. Furthermore, bites from snakes and insects inspired the development of a tool for faster identification and first aid.

Thanks to the initiative of Microland STEAM MakersLab in collaboration with the Learning Links Foundation, over 5000 students gain practical experience in robotics, coding, sensors, and artificial intelligence. They transform local problems they encounter into potentially implementable solutions using appropriate technologies.

Since innovations do not always start with ready answers, sometimes they arise from a child's question: 'Why?'
