Following a wave of criticism on social media, the practice of schoolchildren attending the musical-drama theater during the educational process has been discontinued in the city of Kokand.
Previously, reports appeared online claiming that the city department of preschool and school education in Kokand had approved a schedule for students to visit the musical-drama theater. Furthermore, the issue of collecting funds amounting to 30 thousand soums from each student and holding performances at the expense of time allocated for lessons was raised.
The Fergana regional department of preschool and school education conducted an inspection into this matter and issued a ban on involving schoolchildren in theatrical performances during classes.
Currently, the department continues to study the situation. It stated that appropriate measures are planned to be taken against employees who committed violations or showed inaction. The final results of the inspection have not yet been made public.
