Tashkent plans to create 12,390 new places in schools and 2,040 places in preschool institutions by 2027

The Tashkent city administration has prepared proposals for the development of educational infrastructure for 2027. These plans include the creation of 12,390 additional places in schools and 2,040 places in preschool institutions.

The proposed projects are to be included in the Program for the Development of Social and Production Infrastructure for 2027, as reported by the Tashkent city administration. These initiatives were developed in response to the growth of the capital's population and the increasing demand for additional educational places.

A working group led by Deputy Mayor Dudrona Rakhimova, together with district administrations, assessed the capacity of educational institutions, the number of students, and the need for additional places across all districts of the city.

School construction and reconstruction are planned

In the field of general secondary education, the construction of two new schools is planned. Each of these schools will be designed for 1,980 students, providing a total capacity of 3,960 places for these two facilities. Additionally, an further 8,430 places are provided through the reconstruction of existing schools and the construction of additional buildings.

In Mirzo-Ulugbek district, the capacities of School No. 221 and School No. 171 are planned to be increased by 960 places and 990 places, respectively. In Yashnabad district, School No. 152 will receive 990 additional places, and in Sergeli district, School No. 55 will also be expanded by 990 places.

In Yunusabad district, an additional building at School No. 302 will provide 660 places, and in Shayxantakur district, an additional building at School No. 132 will provide a similar 660 places. School No. 228 in Uchtepa district is planned to accommodate 990 students, School No. 133 in Almazar district — 1,200 places, and School No. 8 in Yangihaid district — 990 places.

Major repairs are also planned for Schools No. 178 and No. 90 in Chilanzar district, as well as School No. 172 in Yakkasaray district.

Development of preschool education

In the field of preschool education, the proposals include the reconstruction and construction of additional buildings in four institutions. Preschool Institution No. 140 in Shayxantakur district will receive 210 places, and No. 229 — 240 places. In Yashnabad district, Preschool Institution No. 517 will be expanded by 240 places, and in Almazar district, Preschool Institution No. 277 — by 240 places.

Furthermore, it is proposed to carry out major repairs of Preschool Institutions No. 200, No. 496, and No. 526 in Chilanzar district, as well as Preschool Institution No. 333 in Mirzo-Ulugbek district.

The city administration emphasized that all these projects are based on the actual needs of the capital's districts and have been submitted for inclusion in the state program for the development of social and production infrastructure for 2027.

A large-scale update to the education system is being prepared in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, by 2027. The plan includes the construction of two new educational institutions, increasing the capacity of existing schools, and renovating kindergartens. As a result of these measures, it is expected that 12.4 thousand new places will be available for schoolchildren and 2 thousand places for preschoolers.

The development of these projects was based on an analysis of the city's population growth and the current demand for educational places. A working group, headed by Tashkent Deputy Mayor Durdona Rakhimova, thoroughly studied the level of occupancy in all educational institutions and determined the need for additional places in each district.

Planned changes in school education

The program provides for the construction of two entirely new schools, each designed to accommodate 1.9 thousand students. Additionally, nine schools located in the Mirzo-Ulubek, Yashnabad, Sergeli, Yunusabad, Shayxantakur, Uchtepin, Almazar, and Yangihaet districts will undergo expansion. This will be achieved through the construction of additional buildings and renovation, which will increase the total capacity of these facilities by several thousand places.

Major repairs are also planned for schools No. 178 and No. 90 in the Chilanzar district, as well as school No. 172 in the Yakkasaray district.

Development of preschool education

Changes will also affect the field of preschool education. In the Shayxantakur district, kindergartens No. 140 and No. 229 are planned for expansion, in the Yashnabad district—kindergarten No. 517, and in the Almazar district—kindergarten No. 277. These institutions will receive a total of 930 additional places. Major repairs are also scheduled for kindergartens No. 200, No. 496, and No. 526 in the Chilanzar district, as well as kindergarten No. 333 in the Mirzo-Ulubek district.

All presented projects are currently formalized as proposals for subsequent inclusion in the state program for 2027 and fully correspond to the identified real needs of the capital's districts. Concurrently, the SI Davomat system, equipped with 'smart' cameras for automated attendance tracking, is being introduced in Tashkent schools.
