Uzbek companies simplify participation in Belarusian exchange auctions without depositing a deposit

Uzbek enterprises that were previously accredited on the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (UzRTSB) can now participate in the auctions of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUTB) without the need to deposit a guarantee.

Until recently, new clients were required to deposit a certain amount as a guarantee for fulfilling obligations under exchange operations. This change was implemented as part of a roadmap aimed at developing trade and economic and socio-humanitarian interaction between Belarus and Uzbekistan for the period 2026–2030.

Now, companies accredited on UzRTSB have the opportunity to enter the Belarusian market without additional financial guarantees. A deposit is an amount that participants pay to ensure the proper fulfillment of assumed obligations.

For the convenience of participants, a specialized section containing information about goods offered on the Belarusian platform, as well as the schedule of trading sessions, daily quotes, and application forms for buying or selling, has been added to the UzRTSB website. Simultaneously, a similar information block dedicated to the Uzbek exchange has been created on the BUTB website.

The cooperation of these two exchanges is regulated by a strategic partnership agreement signed in February 2026. This agreement ensures mutual access of enterprises from both countries to the respective exchange markets and provides for information exchange.

According to information from the Belarusian side, Uzbekistan ranks third among countries by total volume of commodity turnover on this platform. For the period from January to September, the transaction amount involving Uzbek firms exceeded the level of the same period in 2025 by 129%.

Currently, 307 Uzbek companies are registered on the Belarusian exchange, which is 55 more than at the beginning of the current year. Two of them have received the status of exchange brokers. There was also previous information about plans to allow foreign investors in Uzbekistan to purchase local stocks and bonds without the need to open a brokerage account in the country.
