In 1994, he received the National Award for Best Actor for the film 'Krantivir', and in 1996, the National Film Festival Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film 'Agnisakshi'. Thus, he won three National Film Festival awards during his career.
Furthermore, Nana Patekar was honored with the Padma Shri in 2013 for his contribution to Indian cinema. Throughout his long career, he worked not only in Hindi but also in Marathi films.
