The Uttar Pradesh government is set to provide appointment letters to 470 players through the skilled player quota for the UP Police. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this information via a social media post. This appointment is for players who have shown excellent performance in sports, enabling them to secure a position in government service.
Under this special quota, 470 players will be appointed to various posts, including 295 as Constables, 132 as PAC Constables, and 43 as Sub-Inspectors. The total number across these three categories accounts for the 470 appointments.
In his social media message, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that not only are sporting talents being honored in the state, but they are also being provided an opportunity to serve the nation. He believes that a new sports culture is developing in Uttar Pradesh, aimed at valuing talent from the field, boosting their morale, and giving them a chance to serve the country.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that doors to government jobs for sports talents have been opened in the state since 2017. He emphasized that the double engine government has worked to connect players with both employment and a secure future. During this period, more than 534 players have been directly recruited into various government departments.
However, the recruitment process for players is not yet complete. The recruitment process for another 866 players in the UP Police is also underway, indicating that another phase of player recruitment in the police force is ongoing. The appointment letters being distributed today are part of this broader recruitment drive.
