In 2025, Russian archaeologists made a significant discovery in Yakutsk Ostrog: they found a personal letter. This message was addressed to Archimandrite Feofan, who held the position of abbot of the Yakutsk Spassky Monastery.
The letter, dated to the first third of the 18th century, came from a resident of Olekminsky Ostrog. The author of the appeal requested protection and expressed dissatisfaction with his neighbor—priest Andrey Yadrikhinsky.
According to the sender's account, Andrey Yadrikhinsky created problems, preventing him from living normally. Furthermore, he committed several illegal acts, including shooting servants and pigs with a bow, and also slaughtered a cow when the sender went fishing. These findings were described by researchers in a publication in the journal Slověne.
