In connection with the celebration of Navratri, the Municipal Corporation (MCD) has taken strict measures. The corporation issued an order for the complete closure of meat stalls located near temples during Navratri. Furthermore, an order was given to conduct special sanitation campaigns in all Ramlila venues and major places of worship in Delhi.
The Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Municipal Corporation, Satya Sharma, gave special instructions to the MCD commissioner. According to these instructions, all zonal deputy commissioners were tasked with inspecting temples and Ramlila venues in their respective areas.
Satya Sharma instructed officials to carry out regular cleaning of Ramlila grounds, temples, and adjacent areas. It was also mandated to place a sufficient number of bins at event locations and remove waste promptly.
She emphasized that special measures are necessary in areas where large numbers of pilgrims gather during Navratri and the Ramlila festival. Officials must give top priority to sanitary conditions.
The Chairman also instructed officials to conduct larval control and spray insecticides around temples and event venues to prevent mosquito breeding. It was noted that these measures must be under constant supervision, and any cleanliness issues must be resolved immediately.
Given the huge crowds observed at temples and Ramlila grounds during festivals, the need for waste management and cleanliness in these areas significantly increases. In light of this, zonal officials were instructed to maintain continuous surveillance throughout the Navratri period.
