Library project in a gas station with modern and functional design

The description provided by the project team details a library located at the entrance of a village, situated next to a state highway. Although the proximity to the highway generates noise, this location ensures excellent visibility and easy access for the public facility.

The project incorporates typical elements of a public service station, such as the totem, parking lot, front yard, and storefront, using them to attract pedestrians to the self-service concept. Furthermore, it is inspired by the simple and effective metal structure, the use of white color, resource optimization, and neutrality, presenting a square roof with an open plan, which allows for continuous adaptations both in the collection and for the public.

The library also adopts an exaggerated and striking commercial signage style. In the plaza area, a glazed volume and a cylindrical awning mark the entrance, both adorned with a row of lamps. In the back, a round roof was designed to serve the neighboring school, demonstrating the direct link between the two institutions.

The building's architecture combines the strict geometry of a Palladian village with the malleability of a warehouse, creating an atmosphere that evokes low-budget films (B-movies).
