Redmi 17C 5G smartphone released with 6000 mAh battery and 120 Hz display

Sales of the Redmi 17C 5G smartphone from Xiaomi started on October 7th in India. This new 5G smartphone is available at an initial price of ₹20,999. Its main features include a 6000 mAh battery, a 120 Hz refresh rate screen, and a 50 MP camera.

Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 17C 5G as an option for buyers planning to purchase a new 5G phone in the price range of around twenty thousand rupees. Although the phone was launched in India last week, customers can now start acquiring it. The base price is set at ₹20,999.

The company developed this device specifically for users who want to get a large screen, a powerful battery, and 5G support without spending a significant amount of money. The device is equipped with a 6.9-inch screen with up to a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 6000 mAh battery. Thus, the main focus of the Redmi 17C 5G is on providing long-lasting usage and a large screen for daily tasks.

Redmi 17C 5G Price

In India, the Redmi 17C 5G is offered in two configurations. The model with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage costs ₹20,999. The more powerful version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage will cost ₹22,999. Sales began today, October 7th. The device can be purchased on the official Xiaomi website, as well as on Amazon and selected retail stores.

6000 mAh Battery and 33W Charging

One of the most outstanding features of the Redmi 17C 5G is its battery. It has a capacity of 6000 mAh and supports 33W fast charging; the 33W charger is included in the box. Xiaomi claims that the battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1000 full charge cycles.

Additionally, the smartphone supports 10W reverse charging, allowing other small devices to be charged when necessary.

Large 6.9-inch Screen and 120 Hz Refresh Rate

The Redmi 17C 5G is equipped with a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600x720 pixels. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. According to the company's statements, the maximum screen brightness (HBM) reaches 810 nits. The high 120 Hz refresh rate provides a smoother feel when scrolling and using in daily scenarios, whether browsing social media feeds or surfing the web.

Dimensity 6300 Processor and 5G Support

The Redmi 17C 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor. This octa-core chipset is built on a 6nm process and has a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz. The phone is available with 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options. Thanks to the Memory Extension feature, the 6 GB model can virtually increase RAM up to 12 GB. Storage is 128 GB, which can be expanded up to 1 TB using a microSD card. In terms of software, the phone runs on Xiaomi's HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, and includes features such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search.

50 MP Camera

The main rear camera of the smartphone has a resolution of 50 MP, with the main sensor having an aperture of f/1.8. Xiaomi has also integrated artificial intelligence features into the camera. The front camera has an 8 MP resolution. The camera system includes features such as HDR, night mode, portrait mode, and timelapse. While the presence of a 50 MP camera looks attractive in this price segment, one cannot judge the quality of the photos solely by the megapixels. The main goal of the Redmi 17C 5G is to provide an acceptable camera for daily shooting, not a flagship experience.

The Redmi 17C 5G retains support for the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is rare for phones priced around twenty thousand rupees. Additionally, the smartphone is equipped with a side fingerprint sensor and AI facial recognition. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and Dual SIM functionality are also supported. The presence of a dedicated microSD card slot ensures that the user does not have to rely solely on internal memory for storage expansion.
