Information has appeared on social networks that students of Tashkent State Technical University (TGTU) are being evicted from the dormitory. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation confirmed that this building has not yet been put into operation, but its owner allowed people to move in before the established deadline.
Details of housing and infrastructure
Representatives of the department specified that the dormitory, located in the Student City, was built under a public-private partnership model. Currently, heating and hot water supply systems are not operational in it. Nevertheless, the private entrepreneur began accommodating students without proper authorization and without following the established procedure. Furthermore, the university and the ministry were not warned about these actions.
After discovering this situation, the students were temporarily relocated to other university dormitories to ensure their safety. Students from other educational institutions were returned to their home universities. Currently, the process of registering cadastral documents and obtaining all necessary permits is underway.
The Ministry reported that the entrepreneur fully reimbursed the students for all expenses incurred. A previously published message regarding the plans to open a branch of Liaoning Pedagogical University of China in Khorezm region, where the first students will be able to study on a state grant, and later some places will be available on a paid basis, was also noted separately.
