Sabudana Soup Preparation: A Healthy Alternative to Energy Drinks During Seasonal Changes

As seasons change, the body often experiences lethargy, fatigue, weakness, and seasonal illnesses. In such conditions, it is crucial to consume nutrient-rich foods to quickly restore energy and strengthen the immune system. This article presents a recipe for a delicious and nutritious hot sabudana soup.

Sabudana is an excellent source of carbohydrates that provide instant energy to the body. The addition of ginger, black pepper, cumin, and vegetables aids in normalizing digestion. This soup is easily digestible and helps soothe heartburn and stomach acidity. Regularly consuming one bowl of this soup during seasonal transitions maintains vitality throughout the day and prevents feelings of tiredness.

The following ingredients are required for preparation: 1/2 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of black peppercorns, 1/2 teaspoon of rock salt, 1/2 cup of sabudana, 4 tablespoons of peanuts, 1 cup of makhana, 10 chestnuts, 10 almonds, 5 tablespoons of ghee, 2 medium potatoes, 1 tomato, curry leaves, 1 teaspoon of cumin, and the juice of 1 lime.

First, thoroughly wash 1/2 cup of sabudana with water, then let it soak for 30 minutes. Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pan and fry all the dry fruits. After that, remove them and let them cool.

Next, pour more oil into the same pan and cook the chopped potatoes until they are about 80% tender. Then add a little more oil to the pan, add cumin, and let it sizzle. After this, add grated ginger and green pepper, frying for 30 seconds.

Next, stir in the finely chopped vegetables and fry for one minute. Then add 3 cups of water and salt to taste, after which bring to a boil. Simultaneously, add the dry fruits to the soup.

As soon as the water boils, pour in the soaked sabudana and simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, until the sabudana becomes translucent and pearl-like. When the soup slightly thickens, add the ground black pepper and lime juice. Finally, sprinkle with finely chopped fresh cilantro. The ready hot and nutritious sabudana soup should be immediately poured into a bowl and consumed to feel a surge of energy.
