The first-generation Kindle Colorsoft is on sale on Amazon with a 25% discount. This device, which was launched in 2024 for the price of R$ 1,499, can now be purchased for R$ 1,119, allowing installment payments of up to 10 interest-free installments.
This e-book reader is notable for being the first manufactured by the retailer itself with a color screen, marking an important point in the market. It features a 7-inch e-ink screen and, according to the manufacturer, can display up to 4 thousand colors.
In addition to offering a distinct experience, especially useful for those who read comics or anatomy books, the device allows for annotations using yellow, pink, blue, and orange colors. The panel has a resolution of 300 pixels per inch (PPI) for monochrome images, although this density drops to 150 PPI when there are colored elements. The configuration that ensures sharpness is identical to that used in the product's latest version.
The Kindle Colorsoft incorporates 25 integrated LEDs and adjustable light temperature functionality, a feature not present in the Basic Kindle. This adjustment allows the user to modify the brightness level according to their needs and preferences, and it also includes a night mode to ensure comfort during nighttime reading.
Regarding battery life, Amazon reports that the battery can last up to eight weeks on a full charge, a period comparable to that promised for its successor. The recharging process is done via a USB-C cable included with the product.
Although the finish is plastic, which may make it susceptible to damage from sharp drops, it has an IPX8 certification. This certification guarantees resistance to immersion in fresh water at a depth of 2 meters for a period of 60 minutes. The device also offers 16 GB of storage and supports various file formats, including PDF, DOCX, and JPEG.
Interested parties can purchase the Kindle Colorsoft (1st generation) on Amazon for R$ 1,119, with the option of paying in up to 10 interest-free installments.
