Inflation in Uzbekistan reached 0.7% in September, with annual growth at 6.4%

According to the National Statistical Committee, consumer prices in Uzbekistan increased by 0.7% in September 2026 compared to August. Since the beginning of the year, the overall price increase was 4.2%, and annual inflation reached 6.4%.

In September, food products rose by an average of 1%, while non-food goods prices grew by 0.3%, and monetary services provided to the population increased by 0.9%.

During the month, eggs showed the most significant growth among staple food products—by 5.3% (while they rose by 11.4% over the year). Prices for beef increased by 1.7% (16.2% over the year), lean meat by 1.1% (17.9% over the year), and lamb by 1.3% (19.8% over the year). Chicken meat prices rose by 1.2%, buckwheat by 1.1%, rice by 1.0%, and milk and butter by 0.8%.

Simultaneously, sugar decreased by 0.9% during the month. The Committee noted that the change in fruit and vegetable prices is due to seasonal factors. Citrus fruits, grapes, apples, and bananas became cheaper: citrus fruits by 12.0%, grapes by 5.7%, apples by 2.4%, and bananas by 1.7%.

Meanwhile, some vegetables significantly increased in price: tomatoes rose by 14.2% (54.9% over the year), eggplant by 4.7%, onions by 2.6%, and sweet peppers by 4.9%, eggplant by 4.7%, and beets by 12.4%.

In the fuel market, gasoline rose by an average of 1.2% per month and 20.1% annually. The price of propane gas increased by 4.2% per month (48.9% over the year), reaching 10,000 soms per liter. The cost of methane remained unchanged during the month, but it increased by 10.1% over the year.
