Ajay Devgn's film 'Drishyam 3' earned around 300 crore rupees in its first week of release

Ajay Devgn's film 'Drishyam 3' demonstrated enormous success, approaching the mark of 300 crore rupees in just its first week of release.

2026 proved to be a very significant year for the Bollywood industry, as many films were released in cinemas that brought in substantial revenue. Among them are 'Durdanhar The Revenge', 'Hanumanansh', and finally, 'Drishyam 3', which set new collection records.

The film 'Drishyam: Conclusion' starring Ajay Devgn, released on October 2nd, caused incredible excitement. On Sunday, the film showed impressive growth.

On its first day, 'Drishyam 3' collected a record amount, becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film of the year. Furthermore, this marked the best start in Ajay Devgn's 35-year career. In the following day, Saturday, the film also collected over 50 crore rupees in net income. Over two days, the global collection reached almost 200 crore rupees.

However, Sunday turned out to be particularly successful compared to the second day. According to the report by Sakencode, 'Drishyam 3' increased its collections by 14% on Sunday, earning about 61 crore rupees net from approximately 17 thousand screenings. The total net income for the film over three days amounted to 176.50 crore rupees. On Sunday, the average occupancy was 56%, and the global collection over three days reached 272.80 crore rupees. Thus, the film 'Drishyam 3' reached the 300 crore rupee mark in the first half of the week, setting a personal record.

Among Bollywood films, the picture ranked fourth in opening collections for the first week. Previous films include Ranveer Singh's 'Durdanhar The Revenge', as well as two films by Shah Rukh Khan—'Jaan' and 'Patan'. Ajay Devgn surpassed major stars such as Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

Despite the strong start and setting numerous records on Sunday, the real test for 'Drishyam 3' awaits on Monday. Typically, there is a significant drop in film revenue on a weekday. Nevertheless, if Ajay Devgn's film maintains such strong momentum on Monday and reaches a threshold of 200 crore rupees in net income over four days, its total earnings could reach 400–500 crore rupees or even exceed that amount. It remains to be seen if this will become a reality.

Film 'Drishyam 3' set for October 2 release, aiming for record box office and major success

The release of the film 'Drishyam 3' (Drishyam: Conclusion) is scheduled for October 2, marking the conclusion of a story that began 11 years ago with the Vijay Salgaonkar family. This film is the final installment in the 'Drishyam' franchise.

The film's trailer generated significant public interest, leading to a large number of pre-bookings. According to Sakencilk, in the first three days after sales began, specifically from September 27, the film collected over 400,000 tickets, generating a gross revenue of 17.23 crore rupees, of which about 10 crore was earned without corporate bookings. This period covers the dates from October 2 to October 4.

On the first day alone, October 2, the film was screened in approximately 7,480 theaters across the country, collecting 8.90 crore rupees from pre-bookings, including 6.73 crore rupees without corporate buyers. About 2.23 lakh tickets were sold on the first day. Industry analysts estimate that Ajay Devgn's picture could start with a box office collection exceeding 40 crore rupees, which would be the highest figure in the history of this franchise.

If the pace of pre-sales continues, 'Drishyam 3' could become the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, provided it collects around 40–50 crore rupees on its opening day. Currently, the record for the highest box office revenue in the Hindi film industry belongs to 'Durdanhar 2' with 90 crore rupees, followed by 'Border 2' starring Sunny Deol with 32.10 crore rupees.

The creators themselves announced that 'Drishyam: Conclusion' will be the last film in the Hindi franchise. All actors from previous parts will participate in the film, and Jaydeep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj will also join.
