Former Supreme Court Judge Abay Oka issued a warning that if urgent measures are not taken to protect the environment, residents of large cities will have to wear masks for the next twenty-five years. Speaking as the main guest at an event in Thane, he emphasized that the main problem facing future generations is the preservation of nature.
Judge Oka advised students to use artificial intelligence for data collection in their research, and urged young people to study law. He also noted that a serious misconception has arisen among both rulers and ordinary people who consider themselves owners of the Earth.
According to Oka, this mindset has led to a dangerous race characterized by endless deforestation, excessive use of fireworks, increasing noise and air pollution, as well as the contamination of rivers, lakes, and seas. Often, all of this is done under the pretext of religion or society.
He categorically stated that humans are not the owners of Mother Nature. If ecology and the ecosystem are not protected, wearing masks will become mandatory in large urban areas within one and a half decades, even in the absence of epidemics. In his words, environmental protection is not a choice but a constitutional duty that every person must fulfill to avoid irreparable damage.
Addressing the students, he called on them to formulate their own thoughts and ideas independently, using AI only as a tool for gathering information. Furthermore, he inspired young people to study law to strengthen the country's democratic structure. He added that in 27 National Law Universities (NALU) in the country, 55-60% of students are female, and they excel in competitions such as mock trials, debates, and writing judgments. The participation of women is also increasing in judicial appointments.
