Uzbekistan defeated Saudi Arabia in penalty shootout

In the second round of the Mirabror Usmonov 2026 Memorial Tournament, Uzbekistan drew with Saudi Arabia with a score of 2:2. The winner of the match was determined in a penalty shootout.

The Uzbek team opened the scoring in the 42nd minute thanks to a goal by Bekhruz Abdusattorov, who converted a penalty, giving the hosts an advantage.

In the second half, in the 70th minute, Sadriddin Hasanov scored the second goal for Uzbekistan. Thus, the match ended in regular time with a score of 2:2.

In the penalty shootout, Uzbekistan proved more accurate and won with a score of 4:1.

In the second match of this round, the Russian U-19 national team met with the Armenian U-20 national team. This match also ended in a 0:0 draw in regular time. Armenia U-20 became the winner, winning the penalty shootout 5:3.

All matches of the second round were held at the National Football Center.

Uzbekistan reaches the semi-finals of the Asian Games football tournament

The Uzbekistan U23 national football team has reached the semi-finals of the XX Asian Games, held in Yekaterinburg, after defeating Saudi Arabia 3-0 in the quarter-finals.

Uzbekistan opened the scoring in the 11th minute of the match. The goal was scored by Dilshod Murtazoyev from a free kick.

Azizbek Tulkinboev increased the team's lead in the 77th minute, scoring the second goal against Saudi Arabia.

Ten minutes later, Uzbekistan scored the third goal. Firdaus Abdurakhmanov headed in a cross from the right flank, securing the final score of 3-0.

In the semi-finals, Uzbekistan will play the winner of the quarter-final match between Japan and North Korea. The semi-final match is scheduled for September 30.
