Janhvi Kapoor frequently becomes the subject of trolling, whether it is criticism of her acting or the circulation of her AI videos. Several years ago, she debuted in the Telugu film 'Deva' with Junior NTR, and one of the songs from this film, performed by Chutthamalle, became very popular. However, recently an AI version of this song appeared, featuring a deepfake video of Janhvi and Junior NTR.
The AI video, which went viral thanks to Chutthamalle's song, reached Junior NTR, who issued a stern warning against those who created it. The actor stated that he would make every effort to take appropriate legal action. Following this, actors Chiranjeevi, Vijay Deverakonda, and Khushbu Sundar also spoke out in defense against this issue. Now, Janhvi Kapoor has publicly addressed the matter, posting a lengthy message on social media expressing her outrage.
Characterizing it as a criminal mindset, Janhvi stated that using technology for harm, creating fake sexual content without a woman's consent, or portraying her in a distorted manner is a direct violation of her consent and respect. She noted that women in her industry have long faced similar inappropriate behavior regarding their desires, preferences, and bodies, but these situations are becoming even more serious now.
'It is extremely important for us to understand that a woman's consent to something does not mean automatic consent to everything. If a woman wears a mini-skirt, it in no way gives anyone the right to photograph her without permission or look at her body inappropriately. The right to decide remains solely with the woman who feels comfortable and sets her boundaries.'
Continuing the discussion on the concept of 'consent,' Janhvi emphasized that the problem goes far beyond just an AI video. Based on what she has observed in recent weeks and her entire career experience, she believes the issue is much larger. Being a woman often means constantly compromising regarding the attention, judgments, and safety of others. There is always the fear that someone might take her boundaries as their own.
'When we cannot properly deal with the real and physical threat facing women, technology only exacerbates these dangers and complicates women's lives. The answer cannot just be that I will protect my daughter. We must change the mindset that leads people to think it is easy to violate someone else's consent and boundaries. These changes will only happen when people bravely point out the difference between good and evil and stand against wrong things.'
In conclusion, Janhvi thanked the stars for their support on this issue. She wrote that she was deeply impressed by how resolutely Junior NTR raised his voice and condemned such behavior. She added that when a person loved and respected by millions speaks out against what many women silently endure, it gives courage to all women who have ever faced similar behavior.
'Thank you very much Sir Chiranjeevi, Vijay, and Kriti. Standing against such flawed thinking and unethical actions and taking measures is our collective responsibility. I am very surprised by what I see around me lately. Harassment of women, stalking, or viewing them merely as objects can never be right. Every woman has the full right to make decisions about her life, her body, and her boundaries.'
