China and Russia have become the largest foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan for the first eight months of 2026. The total volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade during this period reached $57.4 billion, exceeding the figure for the same period last year by $4 billion, or 7.6 percent. This was reported by the National Statistical Office.
From January to August, exports amounted to $22.9 billion, showing a decrease of 3.4 percent. Meanwhile, imports increased by 16.3 percent, reaching $34.5 billion. As a result, the foreign trade balance recorded a negative balance of $11.7 billion.
Excluding gold, the export of goods grew by 28.7 percent, amounting to $11.5 billion. During this period, Uzbekistan traded with more than 200 countries.
China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Afghanistan accounted for the largest share of foreign trade revenue. The list of the top twenty trading partners also included South Korea, France, the UAE, Hong Kong, and the Kyrgyz Republic.
