During Pitr Paksha, a large number of pilgrims gathered in Badrinath Dham; over 60 thousand visited Brahmakapal in 8 days

A stream of devotees once again flowed into Badrinath Dham during Pitr Paksha. A huge crowd of pilgrims is observed around the shrine. People arrive from different parts of the country to perform pindan and tarpan at the Brahmakapal shrine, and also queue for darshan at Badrinath Vishal.

During Pitr Paksha, Brahmakapal is considered a special place for performing pindan and tarpan rituals in memory of ancestors. This is why a large number of pilgrims come to Badrinath hoping for the liberation of their ancestors. Many of these pilgrims complete their pilgrimage by performing rituals at Brahmakapal and then visiting the Badrinath Vishal temple.

After the main tourist season, the number of visitors to Badrinath Dham sharply increased again in October. Long queues are visible at the temple for blessings. The entire shrine area is packed with people. There are still more than a month and a half until the temple closes, and the growing crowd is generating enthusiasm among the Tirth Purohits community.

According to data from the Brahmakapal Tirth Purohit community, over 60 thousand pilgrims arrived here in the last eight days. It is reported that the number of people this time significantly exceeds the figures of previous years. The crowd gathered at the shrine indicates that the pilgrimage to Badrinath resumed its pace in October even after the end of the main season.

Amit Sati, chairman of the Brahmakapal Tirth Purohit community, noted the significant increase in the number of pilgrims during Pitr Paksha. He reported that over 60 thousand devotees visited Brahmakapal for pindan over eight days. He appealed to the administration to improve the traffic system so that pilgrims do not face any difficulties.

Parallel to Pitr Paksha, the second phase of the Char Dham Yatra is underway, leading to constant pressure on the Badrinath Highway. Two days ago, there was heavy traffic on the road, but the situation improved slightly on Sunday. Despite this, the number of pilgrims in Badrinath Dham has not decreased.

The administration uses methods such as a gate system to regulate traffic on the Badrinath Highway. A large number of vehicles are directed towards the shrine, creating a load on the pilgrimage route. The administration advised travelers to check road conditions in advance and account for travel time.

While pilgrims gather at Brahmakapal for pindan and tarpan, long lines form within the temple complex for darshan at Badrinath Vishal. Hundreds of vehicles arrive in Badrinath, and spiritual enthusiasm is reemerging in the entire region. The increase in visitors during Pitr Paksha has brought back vibrancy to Badrinath Dham after the main season. Thousands of pilgrims perform religious rites for their ancestors at Brahmakapal, and a large number of devotees also gather at the temple for darshan. Given the expected number of tourists in the coming days, maintaining order in transportation remains an important task for the administration.
