The Sir Safety Perugia team officially announced the signing of Iranian attacker Matin Hosseini. He joins the Italian SuperLega club after spending last season with Paykan Tehran.
Matin Hosseini, born in 2005 and standing 2.00 meters tall, is considered one of the brightest young talents in Iranian volleyball. Last year, he achieved significant success on the international stage, becoming the MVP of the FIVB U21 World Championship 2025, where Iran won the world title by defeating Italy in the final.
During this tournament, Hosseini scored 112 points, including 81 points from attacks, 13 blocks, and 18 aces. His average exceeded 12 points per match, highlighting his versatility and attacking impact.
His performances also attracted attention at the senior level. The powerful spiker was included in the Iranian national team under head coach Roberto Piazza for participation in the Volleyball Nations League, allowing him to gain valuable experience facing some of the world's leading national teams.
Perugia's decision to invite Hosseini to Italy is seen as another important step in the development of a player who has already made a strong impression on the world stage.
