Special Commission warns of possible dust storms in Tashkent before rain

A special commission issued a warning about the likelihood of short-term dust storms in Tashkent ahead of the start of rains and the arrival of moist air masses.

This warning was issued by the Special Commission based on forecasts from Uzhydromet and data obtained from global weather models. Forecasters expect wind speeds in the capital to be between 3 and 8 meters per second, but increases up to 10–14 meters per second are possible in some areas, accompanied by dust on the ground.

Due to the atmospheric wind load, a temporary increase in the number of dust particles is predicted, specifically an increase in the concentration of the PM10 fraction. The Special Commission is continuously monitoring the state of air quality in the city.

Rainfall is expected in the capital during the day. Air temperature will fluctuate between 22 and 24 degrees, after which it will gradually decrease to 17–19 degrees.
