The UAE Football Association (Uaefa) announced that due to the participation of the UAE national team in the Gulf Cup final, six special aircraft will be provided. These flights are intended for the free transportation of tens of thousands of fans wishing to support the team in Saudi Arabia.
The final will take place on Tuesday, October 6, at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. The match is scheduled to start at 22:00 UAE time. Uaefa specified that the registration link for seats on the special aircraft will be available on Sunday, October 4, at 13:00.
Prior to this, on Saturday, UAE forward Oussman Kamara scored the only goal, leading the country to a 1-0 victory over Oman. This win secured UAE's spot in the Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 27) final against Saudi Arabia.
Kamara scored with a header from close range, allowing the Zlatko Dalić coached team to reach the final for the first time since 2018. UAE aims to win the title for the third time after victories in 2007 and 2013.
After the match against Oman, Zlatko Dalić commented on the squad changes: 'After we missed the penalty, we naturally replaced three players. We brought in new guys; they brought something new to the team and the game—more energy and changed the rhythm.' He added that the team never gave up, emphasizing that all efforts of the last twenty days were focused on this night and this match.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia defeated Asian champion Qatar 3-2 in a penalty shootout after the main half of the semi-final ended goalless.
