A new SUV is soon to appear in the Indian automotive market. This refers to the Hyundai Bayon, which will become the brand's future mid-size SUV. The company plans to introduce this model on October 12th, marking its global debut. Pre-orders for this car have already begun in India.
The Bayon will occupy an intermediate position between the Hyundai Venue and the Hyundai Creta models in the Indian market. This car can be reserved for as little as 11 thousand rupees. Before the official launch, the company has provided several detailed pieces of information about the new vehicle.
The design of the Bayon will differ from existing Hyundai models and will feature a completely new look reminiscent of a crossover. Hyundai has released several teasers showcasing the Bayon's design. At the front, the car will be equipped with H-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), separated LED headlights, and a muscular bumper. Geometric wheel arches, wrap-around door cladding, and bridge-type rails are also provided.
This SUV will have two-tone wheels. The rear design of the car will also be updated. This SUV will measure 4.2 meters in length, unlike the Venue, which is a subcompact SUV. The Creta measures 4.3 meters.
The Hyundai Bayon will be fitted with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder atmospheric engine, which will work with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. This engine option is also found in the Creta. The car may also appear in a CNG version, offering a factory-installed liquefied natural gas option. This will be Hyundai's first mid-size car available with a CNG option; in the case of CNG, only a manual transmission will be available.
Hyundai has not yet disclosed interior details. The cabin will feature premium trim with black and white or gray and black color schemes. The interior will resemble the fourth-generation i20 presented in Brazil and will include a dual-screen dashboard. Physical controls and knobs may be located on the center console.
