Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept car to appear in Gran Turismo 7 in October

The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept car will be added to the game Gran Turismo 7 in October, becoming the first model from the Chinese brand in the Vision Gran Turismo lineup. This was announced on October 3 during the third round of the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 in Singapore.

At the event, Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the series, shared a scene with Jean-Arthur Madeleine, head of the design department of Xiaomi's European R&D center for the automotive business.

According to information from gran-turismo.com, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will be available with the major Spec IV update to the game in October. The first part of the free two-part update will be released on October 15 and will introduce the new track Sportsland SUGO and six cars.

Furthermore, both parties announced the first driving lessons in GT7 dedicated to electric vehicles, an unprecedented event in the 30-year history of the series, as reported by the Chinese tech publication Leiphone. Players will be able to take special training missions in the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which is already present in GT7 as the first Chinese mass-produced car in the game, as well as in the Xiaomi Vision GT.

Gran Turismo's own announcement focused on video footage of the car and did not provide details about these lessons. The Vision Gran Turismo program started in 2013 and invites automakers to create concept cars for the game. Leiphone notes that the program has already released 50 cars from brands such as Bugatti, Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, and Toyota, and Xiaomi is the thirty-sixth participating brand and the first to join as a technology company. The collaboration was first announced in June 2025.

Xiaomi showcased a full-scale model in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress 2026 and again displayed the car at an auto show in Beijing in April.

Xiaomi describes this car as a sculpture created by the wind. Instead of additional aerodynamic kits, the body uses structural elements with a wing profile, a droplet-shaped cabin, and cutouts that form air channels inside the car. Cross-shaped headlights help direct airflow, and the halo-shaped taillight is part of the rear exhaust outlet and works together with the active trail control system. Xiaomi claims this provides an aerodynamic efficiency of 4.1 and a drag coefficient of 0.29, based on aerodynamic developments conducted for the SU7 and YU7 series models.

Inside, the concept car features a 'Sofa Racer,' which is based on a ring-shaped cabin and utilizes Xiaomi's AI assistant and the large MiMo model to determine the driver's intentions. In Singapore, Madeleine stated that the car balances drag and downforce, remaining fast and stable in the game. GTPlanet noted that the powertrain configuration of the car has not yet been revealed.
