Arabic copies of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's new book, titled 'The Letters,' have appeared in Dubai bookstores, generating interest among readers, including those awaiting the English translation.
At Kinokuniya in Dubai Mall, the Arabic version of the book is priced at 89 dirhams. A store employee noted that customers specifically visit the store to inquire about the book since it has just arrived. He stated: 'We have received a good response to the book so far. People are asking if it is available, and many are interested in reading it. Currently, we only have the Arabic edition, and the English edition is expected later this month.'
Copies of the book arrived two days ago at Borders in Dubai Festival City and are also priced at 89 dirhams. A salesperson there mentioned that the book has attracted the attention of customers who read the first part of the 'Lessons from Life' series. He added: 'The book hasn't been with us long, but the demand is good. Some readers are purchasing the Arabic edition, while others are interested in the English version and its release date.'
Sarah, who came to Borders looking for the English version, learned that it has not yet arrived at the store. She said: 'I came specifically to find the English copy. I will return as soon as it is released.'
Mark, a resident of the UK, links his anticipation to his experience reading the first part of Sheikh Mohammed's series. He shared that he read the English version of the first part and eagerly awaited the continuation with the new book. Mark noted: 'The first book seemed easy to read, but it also made me think. Its lessons on responsibility, hard work, and leadership can be useful to anyone. That's why I wanted to buy the second book, but I will wait for the English edition.'
The book 'The Letters' is a continuation of the 'Lessons from Life' series. It compiles 26 letters addressed to children, family, teams, fellow citizens, and readers around the world. The book combines personal memories with reflections on leadership, justice, ambition, and public service.
The Arabic edition was available in major UAE bookstores starting October 1st. The English edition is scheduled for release on October 15th.
