The final results of the competition for recruitment into Gomgard have been announced in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 41,424 candidates were selected, and lists of selected candidates by district have also been published.
To participate in the recruitment for Gomgard positions, the council requested applications online on November 18, 2025. A total of 2,532,196 people submitted applications for this competition. Following this, a written assessment was conducted.
The written exams took place on April 25, 26, and 27, 2026, across 74 districts of the state, in 6 sessions. After the exam, 107,221 candidates were invited for document verification and physical standards testing (PST). This stage concluded between July 13 and August 7, after which the physical endurance test (PET) was held.
After the completion of the entire selection process, 41,424 people were chosen. Candidates can view their results on the official website by entering their registration number and date of birth.
Previously, the last major recruitment drive for Gomgard in Uttar Pradesh was conducted during the Mayawati government's tenure in 2011, which was carried out at the district level. Since then, no large-scale recruitments have taken place in the Gomgard department.
In 2018, the recruitment process was initiated under the Bharatiya Janata Party government, but it was canceled due to corruption allegations. This recruitment took place in Prayagraj, and the then district commander was suspended from office. Since then, there have been no recruitments for Gomgard.
