Gas supplies to industrial consumers increased by 1 billion cubic meters

The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, presenting the results of work for the first six months of the current year, reported the stability of fuel supply to power plants and enterprises in the country, despite the decline in production at the South Pars field. He also noted that in the industry and small business sector, the volume of gas delivered in the first half of this year exceeded last year's figure by one billion cubic meters.

According to the report published by the IRNA agency of the Ministry of Oil on Saturday, Said Tavakoli stated that restrictions were not imposed on large industries, particularly the steel and petrochemical industries, although some of these enterprises suffered due to various reasons during the third imposed war.

He emphasized that the current situation demonstrates successful crisis management and network resilience, given the condition of oil refineries after recent incidents.

Addressing upcoming difficulties in ensuring sustainable gas supply to the country following incidents at the South Pars gas field, the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company clarified that although the total volume of gas entering the network decreased by approximately 14% compared to the same period last year, the share of gas supplies to power plants remained virtually unchanged. Specifically, this year gas provided 85%, while last year it was 86% of the power plants' fuel basket needs, indicating the high resilience of the country's gas network under difficult conditions.

Tavakoli stressed that these indicators prove the ability of the country's gas industry to maintain the flow of gas in the production and industrial sectors, prioritizing the supply to power plants to prevent imbalance in the energy system, thereby preventing the country's economic mechanism from stopping amid complex extraction.
