Maruti Suzuki increases production of new Brezza due to high demand; bookings exceed 200 thousand units

Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the new Brezza model, which is enjoying significant popularity among buyers. Consequently, the company plans to increase the production volume of this compact crossover. As of October 1, 2026, the total number of booked Maruti Suzuki vehicles exceeded 200 thousand units.

This surge in interest coincides with the start of the festive season, which is forecast to lead to even greater demand for the company's vehicles. Of the total bookings, approximately half are for the Brezza Facelift version, for which 95 thousand advance orders have already been received.

More than 15 thousand Brezza units were sold in September. Given the high demand, the company decided to increase production capacity. Previously, 50 thousand such vehicles were produced monthly, but this figure has now been increased to 56 thousand units.

In the updated Brezza model, Maruti Suzuki has implemented two key changes. Firstly, the car is equipped with a new 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Secondly, the CNG version is now fitted with an underfloor tank, providing consumers with a larger trunk volume compared to previous models.

Regarding Brezza Facelift bookings, the share of the CNG version is 40 percent. The turbocharged petrol variant accounts for 38 percent, while the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine constitutes only 22 percent. Despite this, the CNG version remains the most sought-after.

The fuel consumption of the Brezza CNG is 26.9 kilometers per kilogram, and the declared consumption for the 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine reaches 20.47 kilometers per liter. The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza is available starting at a price of 7.5 lakh rupees, and its top configuration costs 13.70 lakh rupees including all charges.

Furthermore, the company recently released the updated Baleno Facelift model, which sold 25 thousand units in the first month alone. In September, Maruti Suzuki sold 236,013 vehicles. Of these, 185,252 units were sold in the domestic market, and 6,542 were sent to other companies. Exports reached 44,219 units.

Maruti Suzuki is preparing a new 7-seater MPV; component leaks have appeared

Maruti Suzuki is actively working on releasing a new electric model. Although the company does not plan to create an extensive portfolio of electric vehicles, similar to Tata Motors or Mahindra & Mahindra, the next project on its list is an electric MPV.

Following the launch of the E-Vitara, the company began developing this new vehicle. According to reports, this car has the internal codename YMC and is set to compete with the Kia Carens Clarivs Electric. Various images of this future electric car have been published.

The car's design largely resembles the E-Vitara, including the hood, A-pillars, side mirrors, wheel arches, and 18-inch aerodynamic wheels. The rear of the car will look similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, especially due to the L-shaped taillights. Thus, although it is an MPV, its appearance will resemble an SUV, which may help the company attract more consumers.

The YMC's interior will also draw inspiration from the E-Vitara, including the dashboard, center console, door panels, and switches. By reusing components, the company can offer an attractive price for the vehicle. This model may come in two configurations: 6-seater and 7-seater, and it may be equipped with ventilated front seats.

Additionally, the car may feature 10-position adjustable power seats, a 10.25-inch multimedia system, a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless phone charging. Information regarding a sunroof is currently unavailable. Safety will be ensured by features such as cruise control, 7 airbags, and a 360-degree camera.

The Maruti Suzuki YMC will be available in two variants. The base version may be equipped with a 142 hp engine and 193 Nm of torque, powered by a 49 kWh LFP battery, with a claimed range of 415 kilometers. In the top trim, the engine will produce 172 hp and 193 Nm of torque, operating with a 61 kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 515 kilometers.
