Rais Ali Delvar Museum Reopens in Southern Iran After Extensive Reconstruction

The Rais Ali Delvar Museum has reopened its doors in the southern city of Delvar following extensive physical and content reconstruction. Officials presented the museum as a place dedicated to documenting the resistance of local communities against British forces during the First World War.

During the opening ceremony on Thursday evening, the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, emphasized that museums are part of the nation's collective memory and provide a platform for reinterpreting its historical and cultural identity.

Salehi Amiri stressed the need for the accurate and professional presentation of historical narratives to both the younger generation and domestic and international visitors. He reported that the Rais Ali Delvar Museum underwent comprehensive modernization and redesign, including facility repairs, revision and translation of exhibition content, landscaping, and preparation of the central courtyard.

A new relief wall depicting the history of Iranian resistance, particularly that of the residents of Tangestan, against colonial British forces was installed in the central courtyard. The Minister noted that steps had been taken to adapt this historical narrative for contemporary audiences.

Four books dedicated to Rais Ali Delvar, the history of resistance in Delvar, and the struggle of the people of Tangestan against British troops were also presented during the ceremony. Salehi Amiri added that museums require competent storytellers capable of conveying historical themes clearly and engagingly.

He stated that 'Rais Ali Delvar' has become part of the collective cultural memory of the people in Southern Iran and Tangestan, and the museum can serve as a center for preserving this historical identity and passing it on to future generations.

The Minister also highlighted the historical significance of Bushehr as a center of resistance in modern Iranian history, suggesting that the region's heritage could be integrated into new cultural tourism products. He proposed turning the history of Southern Iran's resistance against foreign powers into a subject of research and tourism, utilizing museums, storytelling, cultural tourism, and specialized programs for different audiences.

Salehi Amiri also outlined the ministry's plans for developing coastal and maritime tourism. He indicated that the southern coast of Iran, stretching from Chabahar and Makran (or Makran), to Hormozgan, as well as the islands of the Persian Gulf, Bushehr, and Khuzestan, could be developed as a unified tourist corridor. Investments in accommodation, piers, and tourism services, along with the expansion of sea tours, will help local communities and the economy of Bushehr benefit from the region's potential.

Rais Ali Delvar (1882–1915) was a military leader and a prominent figure in Iranian resistance against British forces after the occupation of Bushehr in 1915 during the First World War, while Iran declared neutrality in the war. Born in the port city of Bushehr, Delvar organized resistance in Tangestan after British troops occupied Bushehr and Delvar. He died on September 2, 1915, at the age of 33. His former home in Delvar, near Bushehr, was previously converted into an ethnological museum, where some of his personal belongings, historical documents, as well as firearms and horse tack are kept.

Release of 'Udta Tir' postponed to October 23 due to success of 'Drishyam 3'

The release date for the film 'Udta Tir,' starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has been moved. Instead of the originally planned date of October 9, the premiere will take place on October 23 in cinemas.

The creators made this decision after the film 'Drishyam 3' achieved massive success at the box office. This film earned over 66 million rupees on its release day, surprising both audiences and the industry.

In light of the change in release date, the creators issued an official statement. They noted that the trailer and promotional campaign for the film received a very positive response from the public, generating significant buzz. Therefore, they decided it was better to postpone the release to avoid competition for screens amid a high volume of viewers. This strategic move is expected to allow the film more screenings and attract the maximum audience.

Ayushmann Khurrana also expressed enthusiasm for his new movie. He believes that 'Udta Tir' represents a return to his familiar style and original content, which has always appealed to viewers. He hopes that when the film is released on October 23, the public will see his previous and unique self.

The primary reason cited for postponing the release of 'Udta Tir' is the box office success of 'Drishyam 3: The Conclusion.' According to data from the website Box Office Tracker Saklannik, the film earned a net of 66.75 million rupees and a gross of 80.10 million rupees in India from 15,759 screenings on the first day. Furthermore, with international earnings amounting to 15 million rupees, the total worldwide gross reached 95.10 million rupees. The creators of 'Udta Tir' made this decision to avoid clashing with such a dominant hit at the box office.

It is not the first time in the film industry that release dates have been shifted to prevent box office clashes. Previously, when there was fear surrounding 'Dhurandar: The Revenge' in theaters, the creators of the film 'Toxic' also showed foresight by pushing back their release date. However, despite all calculations and strategies, 'Toxic' failed to achieve success at the box office and turned out to be a flop. Now, it remains to be seen whether 'Udta Tir' can win over the hearts of viewers on October 23.

Salman Khan's film 'Matrubhumi' receives government approval and is preparing for theatrical release

The path to the release of Salman Khan's long-awaited war drama 'Matrubhumi' has become clear after receiving permission from the government. The Ministry of Defence and Information Resources (I&B) issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the new version of the film, allowing it to be released in cinemas.

The film, based on the events of the India-China clash in Galwan in 2020, previously faced objections from the Ministry of Defence due to improving relations between the two countries. After receiving the NOC, the creators plan to release the film for Diwali this year, on November 13th.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the Ministry of Defence had some comments regarding the content and the mention of China in the film, given the recent diplomatic improvements between India and China. However, sources state that officials at the I&B Ministry are fully satisfied with the revised version provided by the creators and issued the NOC last week.

After obtaining the NOC, Salman Khan began working on the film's release plans, considering the date of November 13th. He believes that the festive atmosphere and celebratory mood immediately following Diwali would be perfect for this patriotic war drama. If everything goes according to plan, the official announcement of the release could happen within the next ten days.

For the film to be released, only the printing by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) remains. The creators will soon submit it to the film censorship board. If the CBFC approval is obtained this month, the film will appear in theaters on November 13th. Significant changes were made to the original script following government directives, and positive aspects concerning India-China relations have now been added.

The film 'Matrubhumi', directed by Apurva Lahia, features a cast including Salman Khan and actress Chitrangada Singh. The previously delayed film generates great excitement among fans. With the NOC secured, all attention is focused on the censorship board procedure and the upcoming official statement from the creators.

Film 'Drishyam: Conclusion' with Ajay Devgn becomes a box office hit, collecting a significant amount on the first day

The film 'Drishyam: Conclusion' has earned the status of a box office leader, causing a real sensation at the box office. This meme-worthy character from the 'Drishyam' franchise, which was often discussed in connection with the events of October 2nd, has gained wide popularity in pop culture. The franchise, based on a Malayalam remake, has been recognized as a global success, and three parts of this story have already been released in Hindi.

Recently, the film 'Drishyam: Conclusion' starring Ajay Devgn was released, and preliminary sales already indicated its potentially huge success. Before the film's release, it was expected that 'Drishyam 3' could collect 40–50 million rupees on the first day, but as the release date approached and audience interest grew, forecasts increased to 55–60 million rupees.

After the film's release on October 2nd, the first-day collection report became available. Thanks to the holiday associated with Ganesh Chaturthi, the film showed excellent results. According to Sakencilk, the film collected a net income of 66.75 million rupees in 15,735 theaters across the country. The gross revenue in India amounted to 80.10 million rupees. Furthermore, 'Drishyam 3' earned another 15 million rupees outside India, leading to a total global collection of 95.10 million rupees.

This success makes it the only Hindi film to collect such an amount in one day after Ranveer Singh's 'Durhandar: Revenge'. The film gave Ajay Devgn his biggest box office start in his 34-year career. Among actors from the 90s, he surpassed stars like Shah Rukh, Salman, Amir, and Akshay, setting a record for opening collections in Hindi. Moreover, he overtook the first-day collection of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jaan', which collected 65 million rupees in 2023, beating it by only 1 million rupees. Within Hindi releases, he is only surpassed by Ranveer Singh's 'Durhandar: Revenge', which started with 102 million rupees.

The film 'Drishyam 3' received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Following impressive first-day collections, it can be assumed that it may surpass the second part in total revenue. There is a possibility that within the first week, the film will exceed the mark of 150 million rupees. The film was written and directed by Abhishek Pathak. It is worth noting that this episode of the 'Drishyam' series is not a direct remake of the Malayalam original.
