During protests against the Chief Electoral Officer Dyanesh Kumar, which took place on Gandhi Day, Congress member Rahul Gandhi criticized the actions of the police in Lok Sabha. He stated that eventually the Chief Electoral Officer would be forced to resign, as well as the system that appointed him.
The opposition leader emphasized: 'He will go. Because a baton can stop a crowd, but not an issue.'
On the social network X, Rahul Gandhi reported that thousands of young people peacefully protested against the 'theft of votes' and the resignation of Chief Electoral Officer Kumar in order to save democracy. However, the Modi-Shah government reacted by detaining and arresting young men and women in the streets.
He added that this aligns with Bapu's teachings—to speak the truth and fight peacefully—and that this is what frightens the government the most.
