Uzbekistan expands business ties with European companies at the Eurochambres Congress

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, participated in the Eurochambres Congress 2026, which took place on September 28–29 in Valencia, Spain. The event gathered about 200 representatives from 91 chambers of commerce and organizations from 38 countries.

Participants discussed topics such as the competitiveness of the single market, economic stability, innovation, digitalization, energy, and the development of the business environment. The Eurochambres network unites over 20 million companies and 1700 regional and local chambers of commerce, more than 93% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises.

During the congress, Davron Vakhabov held bilateral meetings with representatives of chambers of commerce and industrial associations from European countries. The parties discussed opportunities to expand trade and investment ties, implement joint projects, increase export opportunities, and develop logistics cooperation.

The program also included a visit to the Marina de Empresas innovation center in Valencia. Leaders of chambers of commerce and industrial associations, as well as representatives of foreign delegations, including the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, participated in the visit.

Marina de Empresas provides support for entrepreneurship in various fields: from training entrepreneurs and developing startups to acceleration and attracting investment. Its ecosystem includes the EDEM business school, the Lanzadera business incubator and accelerator, and the Angels investment fund.

Participants reviewed mechanisms for preparing young entrepreneurs, selecting and developing innovative projects, accelerating them, and providing financial support. The Lanzadera accelerator has supported over 1100 companies since its launch, whose projects have attracted over 200 million euros in investments.

Startups at Marina de Empresas develop technological solutions for practical business needs in the industries of manufacturing, logistics, retail, and agribusiness.

During the visit, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan met with the management of Marina de Empresas. They discussed the potential of applying the experience of the Valencian ecosystem in Uzbekistan. Specifically, they talked about accelerating youth startups, developing IT and creative industries, and integrating residents of Uzbek technology parks and clusters into international acceleration programs.

Participation in the Eurochambres Congress 2026 and the visit to Marina de Empresas allowed the Uzbek side to discuss new directions for cooperation with European chambers of commerce and industrial associations, as well as with representatives of the Valencian entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Uzbekistan and Oman held discussions aimed at expanding trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between the two states, as well as improving transport and logistical connectivity.

The issues were discussed by Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Oman's Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri.

The parties reviewed measures that would increase bilateral trade and expand the range of goods, as well as simplify access for Uzbek and Omani companies to the markets of both countries.

Particular attention was paid to creating direct contacts between exporters, buyers, and importers, as well as eliminating barriers related to standards, certification, and customs procedures.

One of the key issues was the proposal to conclude a preferential trade agreement. The parties discussed accelerating technical work to determine the list of goods, tariffs, and rules of origin for products.

Furthermore, the possibility of updating the agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments is being considered, which is expected to create more favorable conditions for investors and expand economic interaction.

In the field of industrial cooperation, the parties discussed implementing joint production projects based on market demand and investment needs. The importance of direct interaction between companies to identify commercially viable projects was emphasized.

Logistics also became an important part of the negotiations. The possibility of using Oman's port infrastructure to develop maritime routes and facilitate the movement of goods between the countries was examined.

The further use of direct flights between Muscat and Tashkent to support trade and investment and expand companies' market access was also discussed.

Significant attention was given to the participation of the private sector. In particular, the parties considered the possibilities of creating export-oriented production facilities in Oman's economic and free zones.

Additionally, it was planned to establish a business council and hold a business forum to present investment opportunities and establish direct links between companies, investors, and potential partners.

The discussions also focused on preparing practical results for the sixth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee of Oman-Uzbekistan, which will take place in Muscat. The parties stressed the need to define priority projects and establish clear mechanisms for further interaction to develop cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, industry, and logistics.

Uzbekistan and Belarus Expand Interregional Cooperation at Forum in Khiva

A meeting of the heads of local representative bodies of Uzbekistan and Belarus took place in Khiva as part of the Fourth Uzbek-Belarusian Interparliamentary Forum on September 29. The parties discussed the development of interregional ties, new economic initiatives, and practical interaction between the regions of the two countries.

Following the meeting, the press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan reported the signing of fifteen bilateral agreements. Participants emphasized the significance of cooperation at the local level for strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus, paying special attention to establishing direct contacts between regions and representatives of local communities.

The functions of local representative bodies in the socio-economic development of territories, public involvement, expanding citizen participation, and supporting public initiatives were considered. Additionally, methods for effectively utilizing the economic and social potential of the regions, stimulating entrepreneurial and investment activities, and finding new directions for economic partnership were discussed.

Parliamentary diplomacy played a central role in the discussions. The parties agreed to maintain regular dialogue between local representative bodies, as well as to expand mutual visits and working meetings. These 15 agreements are intended to deepen interregional cooperation, establish direct contacts, exchange experiences, and bring interaction to a new practical level.

Several thematic sessions were held during the forum in Khiva, dedicated to industrial cooperation, the agro-industrial sector, tourism, education, healthcare, science, and innovation.

Session on Industrial Cooperation and Joint Investments

In the first session titled 'Uzbekistan and Belarus: Industrial Cooperation, Joint Investments, and Realization of Labor Potential,' participants examined opportunities to expand industrial interaction, implement investment projects, localize production, and create joint enterprises. Parliamentarians, government representatives, business circles, business associations, and women entrepreneurs discussed the development of cooperation chains, the production of new types of goods, the introduction of modern technologies, and access to new markets.

Special attention was paid to the participation of women in entrepreneurship, job creation, professional skills development, and support for women's business initiatives.

Cooperation in the Agro-Industrial Sector

The second session, dedicated to 'Cooperation in the Agro-Industrial Sector: Food Security and Biotechnology,' focused on the state of cooperation in the agricultural sector, technology exchange, and new joint projects. Participants analyzed issues of food and phytosanitary safety, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and biotechnology, as well as the processing of agricultural products and attracting investments.

Measures proposed included the localization of Belarusian agricultural machinery production in Uzbekistan, the creation of joint production facilities, and the expansion of investment projects. The parties also identified areas for cooperation in animal husbandry, genetics and veterinary medicine, seed production and breeding, plant biological protection, agrobiotechnology, and digital solutions, expressing interest in joint research and training qualified specialists. Following this session, 11 agreements worth 35.5 million soms were signed.

Social and Humanitarian Partnership

The third session was devoted to the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus in humanitarian and social spheres. Members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of state structures, educational and scientific institutions, healthcare, and the Youth Parliament participated. Cooperation in higher and vocational education, scientific research, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and innovation was discussed.

Discussions included expanding interaction between universities, joint training of engineering personnel, and exchanging experience in vocational education. Participants also considered possibilities for joint research in biodiversity, genetics, and modern technologies. In healthcare, maternal and child health, pediatrics, improving the quality and accessibility of medical services, and the digitalization of the healthcare system were discussed. Prospects for cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector were studied.

Tourism Dialogue

The fourth session, titled 'Tourism Dialogue: From Potential to Concrete Joint Projects,' aimed to increase tourist exchanges, develop new tourism products and routes, and improve the quality of services provided. Representatives of state organizations, educational institutions, the private sector, the hotel industry, and tour operators from both countries participated in the discussion. Participants proposed jointly promoting tourism products that combine the opportunities of Uzbekistan and Belarus in third-country markets.

Special attention was paid to Uzbekistan's potential in cultural and historical, ecological, ethnic, gastronomic, educational, and pilgrimage tourism. The Belarusian side presented its experience in developing ecotourism, creating tourist villages, educational tourism, and training personnel for this sector. At the end of the tourism session, a number of agreements and memoranda on cooperation in the field of tourism and the provision of tourist services were signed.

The forum also hosted the Fourth Business Forum of Women Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Belarus, where participants discussed prospects for further developing business ties between the two states. Overall, the parties stressed the need to fill bilateral cooperation with concrete projects, expand direct contacts between regions and entrepreneurs, and utilize existing economic, social, and human potential more effectively.

Uzbekistan and Italy plan to expand cooperation in business services

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan announced its intentions to expand cooperation in the field of business services and support for professional communities with the Italian company APRI International Srl.

Advisors of the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shaykhov and Jamil Maksudov, held a meeting with the President of APRI International Srl, Luigi Alfredo Caruncho.

APRI International Srl specializes in supporting independent specialists such as lawyers, consultants, and freelancers, as well as professional associations, helping them enter international markets and develop activities abroad.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed strengthening trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Italy, as well as opportunities for creating direct partnerships in the field of business services. Special attention was paid to the interaction of representatives of free professions, including auditors, financiers, engineers, lawyers, and consultants.

The participants reviewed prospects for providing legal and consulting support to Italian firms interested in entering the Uzbek market. The exchange of experience with Uzbek specialists and the implementation of joint projects were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue cooperation in specific areas and sign a memorandum of cooperation.
