Rogelio Salmona Foundation opens applications for the 5th Latin American Architecture Award

The Rogelio Salmona Foundation has launched a call for submissions regarding the Fifth Cycle of the Rogelio Salmona Latin American Architecture Award. The award's central theme is "Spaces that unite us" and aims to recognize architectural creations that have positively impacted community life and interactions between people and the places where they live.

Eligible works must have been built between 2010 and 2020, located in Latin America and the Caribbean. The main criterion is that these open spaces and their urban connections have promoted social transformation in their surroundings.

The award values and honors projects whose architectural characteristics have resulted in open areas that encourage community gathering and residents' appropriation of the environments. The call is available to various agents involved in the execution of the works, provided the projects meet all requirements defined in the terms of reference.

Jury Composition

The panel of judges responsible for selecting the works is composed of architects Daniel Bonilla, Francesco Careri, Nicolás Campodónico, Gabriela Carrillo, and Marta Moreira. This panel will evaluate the projects based on their ability to integrate respectfully into the local context, promote collective use spaces, and establish significant ties with the city and its inhabitants.

Call Details

Interested parties can find more details about the call on the foundation's website. The final deadline for submitting applications is set for October 30, 2026, at 12:00 AM. It is mentioned that there is a fee associated with participation in the award.
