Salvador and several other locations in the state of Bahia are expected to face rain showers during this weekend, covering Friday (2) through Sunday (4). The Institute of Environment and Water Resources (Inema) forecasts rain in different parts of the state.
In the coastal area, rain showers are expected, with a special focus on Salvador and the Metropolitan Region. Meanwhile, the western region of Bahia should experience an increase in instability, which may result in rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and wind gusts.
In Salvador, the forecast indicates rain showers throughout the entire weekend, with the highest intensity projected for Sunday (4). Expected temperatures range between 24°C and 30°C on Friday (2), between 25°C and 30°C on Saturday (3), and between 25°C and 31°C on Sunday.
In the interior of the state, some regions will maintain high temperatures. On Friday, Paulo Afonso and Juazeiro may reach a maximum of 37°C, while Barra may record up to 39°C. Morro do Chapéu is expected to have a minimum of 17°C and a maximum of 38°C. In Piatã, the predicted temperature variation is from 16°C to 37°C, and Vitória da Conquista is expected to register temperatures between 17°C and 35°C.
On Friday (2), the increase in instability in the West will favor rain showers, which will come with lightning and thunder, especially in areas near the borders with Tocantins and Piauí. There is also a possibility of light and isolated rain in the Southwest and Lower South. On the coast, the influence of the sea breeze tends to increase cloudiness in the morning, allowing for quick and isolated showers. In other areas, the weather will remain dry, with variations in cloudiness, but without expectation of precipitation.
In the Central-West, the forecast points to high temperatures, low air humidity, and wind gusts. For Saturday, instability zones will expand across Western Bahia, promoting moderate to heavy rain, with a chance of strong winds and electrical discharges. On the coast, the presence of a trough at low atmospheric levels will contribute to increased instability, resulting in light to moderate rain showers at any time of day.
In other regions of the state, the sun will appear between cloudy periods, with no rain forecast. In Feira de Santana, the predicted minimums are between 19°C and 21°C, with a maximum of 34°C. In the West, Ibotirama may reach a maximum of 34°C, while Bom Jesus da Lapa is expected to fluctuate between 22°C and 37°C. Cocos has a temperature forecast between 20°C and 33°C.
On Sunday, instability areas will remain active in the West, with possible rain throughout the day, with the largest volumes expected between the early morning and the start of the morning. During the afternoon, the sun should appear between clouds, although isolated showers are still possible.
In Eastern Bahia, instabilities intensify during the early morning, favoring heavier rains in Salvador, Metropolitan Region, Recôncavo Baiano, and Lower South. Although there is a tendency for these instabilities to decrease in intensity throughout the day, the possibility of rain persists. In Chapada Diamantina, Southwest, and Northeastern Bahia, lighter rains are expected, concentrated mainly between the early morning and morning, with a tendency to weaken during the day. In other regions, the forecast is for sun interspersed with clouds, with no expectation of rain.
