FAVOO School promoted FEICON 2026 under the theme 'Vilhena: History, Foundation, and Progress.' The event gathered work prepared by students from Early Childhood to High School over several weeks. The initiative encouraged classes to investigate various aspects of the city's formation, transforming their discoveries into presentations, models, scenarios, and shared experiences with the entire school community.
During the project, students came into contact with narratives of pioneers, conducted interviews, and visited important sites for Vilhena's memory, such as tourist spots, initial commercial establishments, and areas related to health and the first hospital. The activities were adapted to the age group of each group, allowing students to explore the municipal trajectory through practical experiences.
A notable aspect of the project was the technical excursion to Aldeia Capitão Kina, belonging to the Sabanê people, located in the Aripuanã Indigenous Park. This visit provided students with knowledge of a reality that is also part of the region's identity and history, in addition to allowing them to hear accounts, observe customs, and learn from ancestral traditions.
Rosemeire Roldão, director of FAVOO School, shared that accompanying the setup of FEICON 2026 held a deep personal meaning. She mentioned that, having been born in Vilhena, revisiting the students' research, visits, and accounts about the city's history awakened many memories of her own childhood. Beyond the final product, she highlighted the fundamental role of the teachers, the dedication of the team, and the curiosity of the students as defining elements of the process.
By opening its doors to the community, FEICON 2026 exhibited not only the work produced by the classes but also the entire journey of research and learning built collaboratively. This experience helped bring students closer to the history of Vilhena and expand their understanding of the place where they live, reinforcing the connection between education, memory, and community.
