The initiative called 'Carreta da Mulher Pernambucana' is providing free specialized care for women in the city of Petrolina, located in the state's Sertão region.
This mobile unit was available this Friday (the 2nd) and Saturday (the 3rd) in the João de Deus neighborhood, positioned near the Youth Square fair. The services offered include mammography, ultrasound, biopsy, and medical consultations.
The operating hours for the services were set between 8 am and 5 pm. Slot distribution is done in a mixed way: half is reserved for patients who already have an appointment through a Basic Health Unit (UBS), while the remainder is intended for patients who arrive on a first-come, first-served basis.
The main purpose of this action is to promote early diagnosis of both breast cancer and cervical cancer. Furthermore, the health professionals present at the site provide guidance to patients on preventive measures and general health care.
