ICICI Prudential Life has appointed Sidhartha Mishra as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) for a five-year term. He has already held the position of Chief Operating Officer since October 6.
He will assume the role of MD & CEO from October 14 or from the date of approval by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), whichever is later. This appointment is as an additional director and managing director and will be valid for five consecutive years, subject to obtaining necessary permissions.
Mishra replaces the incumbent head, Anup Bagchi. Bagchi submitted his resignation after HDFC Bank announced his appointment as the bank's MD & CEO starting October 13, 2026. Bagchi officially retired on October 1, with his last working day being October 13, 2026.
Sidhartha Mishra holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a postgraduate diploma in management specializing in finance, obtained from Utkal University in Bhubaneswar. With over 26 years of experience in the banking sector, he currently heads the digital channels and partnerships, voice channel, customer service, NRI, and IFIG groups at ICICI Bank Limited.
