Applicants demanding adherence to quotas in teacher vacancies approached Anupriya Patel and sought help from the Chief Minister

Representatives of applicants who are competing for employment in the recruitment drive for 68,500 teachers in Uttar Pradesh submitted a memorandum to Union Minister Anupriya Patel on October 2, the day of Non-Violence Day. They raised the issue of violations in the quota distribution process before the head of their party (SP).

According to the protesters, it had previously been acknowledged during a meeting of ministers of primary and secondary education that there were errors in the quota system. The applicants requested that the Union Minister raise this sensitive issue directly before the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to achieve a transparent resolution.

During the meeting, applicant Ashutosh stated that since it was Non-Violence Day, they did not conduct any aggressive demonstrations or blockades. Instead, they presented their problems as issues of family and society. Union Minister Anupriya Patel assured the applicants that she would resolutely address the matter and ensure appropriate action.

The protesters claim that for the last eight years, they have lived only on promises. More than 23,000 vacant positions still remain within this hiring process. Of these, more than 9,000 positions are designated for the OBC category, while the remaining spots are reserved for people with disabilities, freedom fighters, and war veterans.

Applicants related to the competition for 69,000 assistant teachers state that representatives of reserved categories have not received due benefits according to the established concessions. Their demand is to implement the recommendations of the Backward Classes Commission and publish a revised list of candidates. The applicants clearly stated that their struggle will continue until employment contracts and an official schedule are issued, and they are prepared for prolonged fasting if necessary.
