Full schedule of India's participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup presented

The schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup was published on October 1st. India's tournament start is planned with a tough match against the reigning champion Australia. The first match will take place on October 7th at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.

Three days later, on October 10th, the Indian team will face their long-time rival Pakistan. This game will be held at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

India is included in Group A along with Australia, Pakistan, co-host Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and one qualifying team. According to the schedule, on October 14th, India will play against Afghanistan in Centurion (now Tswane). Next, on October 17th, there will be a match against the qualifying team in Bloemfontein. India's last group match is set for October 24th against co-host Zimbabwe at New Victoria Falls Stadium.

After the conclusion of the group stage, starting from October 25th, the Super 7 stage will begin. Three best teams from each group, as well as the best fourth-placed team from both groups, will participate in this stage.

According to the ICC seeding system, India received an A1 rating, Australia an A2, and Pakistan an A3. England has a B4 rating, while New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka received ratings B1, B2, and B3 respectively. If any of these teams fail to qualify, their spot will be taken by a qualifying team with the corresponding rating.

Should they qualify for the Super 7, India and Pakistan will meet again on November 7th in Cape Town. Before that, on October 28th, India will also play against Australia in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

The first semi-final of the tournament is scheduled for November 17th in Cape Town, and the second for November 18th in Centurion. The final match will take place on November 21st at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

A total of 12 matches will be held during the World Cup across various venues. In Windhoek, Namibia, there will be three super series matches and three group matches. In Zimbabwe, Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls stadiums will be used. In South Africa, games will be played in Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Tswane (Centurion), Bloemfontein, Durban, Gqeberha City, and Ekurhuleni.

Ticket prices range from 9.62 US dollars (158 Rand) to 31.31 US dollars (514 Rand). ICC Chairman Jay Shah noted that the publication of the schedule and the start of ticket sales are important steps for promoting the tournament, and the ICC aims to attract as many fans as possible through affordable prices.

India's team may reach the Cricket Asian Games final without playing matches due to rain

Due to incessant rain, the Indian team, a two-time T20 World Championship champion, is forced to enter the Asian Games semi-finals without proper preparation and in an irregular state. On Thursday, the Indian squad will face the Sri Lankan team. The match is scheduled to start at 10 am Indian time.

After arriving in Nagoya, the Indian team could not get enough opportunities for training due to constant downpours. They managed to conduct only one training session before the semi-final when the sky cleared slightly. Although clear weather is forecast for Thursday and Friday, there is a risk of further rain during the final on Saturday.

It is interesting that all four teams in the semi-finals have not played a single match in the tournament yet. All quarter-final matches were cancelled due to rain, and the participants for the semi-finals were determined based on the ICC ranking. In the second semi-final, Pakistan and Bangladesh will face each other.

For India, this match presents an unusual situation. The team arrived in Japan on September 20, but the training process was constantly interrupted by rain. India managed to play only one friendly match against Japan near Tokyo, where each team played five overs. Earlier, captain Shreyas Iyer admitted that bad weather creates problems with training but stressed that professional athletes cannot use this as an excuse for lack of practice.

Furthermore, India's opponent, Sri Lanka, is not in full fighting condition. Therefore, the Indian team under the guidance of Shreyas Iyer is expected to start strongly to qualify directly for the final.

In the early stages of the tournament, large scores were not recorded. Due to constant rain, the field remains moist, which may lead to a slowdown and some sluggishness on the pitch in the semi-final. Under these conditions, players, bowlers, and fielders will have to quickly adapt to the circumstances.

There is a certain relief for India: if the semi-final match on Thursday is cancelled due to rain, they will automatically advance to the final based on their first place in the ICC ranking. Sri Lanka ranks ninth. In the second semi-final, Pakistan ranks sixth, and Bangladesh ranks eighth. Similarly, if that match is cancelled, Pakistan will proceed to the final due to a higher ranking. However, if the final on Saturday is also cancelled due to bad weather, the gold medal will be shared between India and Pakistan.
