Women's archery team reaches final at 2026 Asian Games, gold medal expected

Today, the thirteenth day of the 2026 Asian Games, India is expected to actively win medals in sports such as boxing, hockey, archery, and wrestling. Organizers are constantly updating information about the events taking place in Nagoya, Aichi.

On the twelfth day of the competitions, October 1st, India received six awards: two silver and four bronze. Among the winners was wrestler Nitesh Siwach, who won silver in the men's Greco-Roman 87 kg category. The pair Prince Noble and Manu Francis secured silver in sailing (Scow), while the women's and men's squash teams won bronze medals. Bronze medals were also won in women's sailing (Scow) and in the individual pair archery event.

There is good news in archery: the team from Kumkum Mohod, Ankita Bhakt, and Kirti reached the final in the women's pair event. Previously, the Indian team defeated China with a score of 5:1 in the semi-finals. In the final match of the women's pair event, India will face South Korea. This is the first time an Indian team has reached the final in this discipline.

The competition schedule includes many events. For example, in archery, the following matches are planned: at 5:55 AM — women's pair semi-final (India vs China); at 6:25 AM — women's pair medal match; at 8:20 AM — mixed pair semi-final (India vs Japan); and also the mixed pair medal match, which will start at 8:50 AM. Next on the schedule is the men's pair semi-final at 10:30 AM (India vs Iran) and the men's pair medal match at 11:25 AM.

Boxing finals are scheduled: at 10:00 AM — women's 75 kg class between Lovlina Borgohain and Bao Zhe (China); at 2:15 PM — women's 65 kg class between Parvin Hudoy and Nien-Chin Chen (Taipei, China); and also at 2:45 PM — men's 80 kg final between Ankush Panghom and Minseong Kim (South Korea).

Canoe slalom competitions are scheduled for Shikha Chauhan, Hitesh Kevat, and Pradyumna Singh Rathore. Among the planned events are the women's individual cross at 7:30 AM, as well as various qualifications and finals for the participants.

Track cycling starts are scheduled for Harshita Jakhar, as well as competitions for Ronaldo Singh Latonadzama and David Beckham Elkatochoung. These include the women's omnium race, men's keirin races, and women's omnium races.

Golf rounds are scheduled for Pranvi Urs, Diksha Dagar, Aditi Ashok, as well as for Vira Ahalavata, Saptak Talwar, and Yuvraj Sandhu. India is also participating in team rounds.

The women's team final in hockey between India and China will take place at 3:30 PM. In rugby sevens, a match between the Indian women's team and Malaysia is scheduled for 8:50 AM.

A race is scheduled for Mahi Verma in sailing. In Sepak Takraw, India will compete against Thailand. In taekwondo, matches are scheduled for Kashish Malik against Siu Wai Lam (Hong Kong).
