The South Korean group LE SSERAFIM participated as one of the main attractions at BlizzCon 2026, which took place on September 12th and 13th in Anaheim, California. During the event, the group presented an unreleased music video for their song 'Made My Night' and released six new visuals for Overwatch characters.
This third collaboration between the group and Blizzard's game is now available to players. The BlizzCon weekend concluded with a live show at the closing ceremony, serving as an introduction to LE SSERAFIM's upcoming tour of the United States.
Packed with Content
The content package released includes several additions to the game, such as skins, emotes, celebration animations, and challenges. The characters Mizuki, Freja, D.Mon, Anran, Sierra, and Moira received visuals inspired by the group; notably, the skins for D.Mon and Moira are classified as 'ultra', possessing additional special effects.
The partnership began days before the event with the release of the 'Made My Night' clip. In this clip, the two South Korean protagonists, D.Mon and D.va, appear to save the members of LE SSERAFIM, who had been captured by invasive robots with an affinity for K-pop. The new skins were released on the opening day of BlizzCon, September 12th, accompanied by a gameplay trailer and an in-event game broadcast.
The Third Act
The first collaboration between Overwatch and LE SSERAFIM took place in 2023. This initial partnership introduced skins for D.Va, Brigitte, Kiriko, Sombra, and Tracer, and the members also appeared in the 'Perfect Night' clip, which was the group's first English track. This project was a great success, and even today, 'Perfect Night' remains among LE SSERAFIM's most streamed songs on Spotify.
Internal reports suggest that the sales results of the skins were crucial in convincing Activision executives to maintain investment in Overwatch, despite a reduction in the number of players. The collaboration proved to be mutually beneficial, justifying both parties' desire to repeat the partnership. The second phase of this collaboration occurred in 2025, bringing skins for Ashe, D.Va, Illari, Juno, and Mercy, as well as color variations for the first batch of skins.
New Season
Currently, the collaboration is unfolding in Season 4, titled 'Heroes of Busan,' but the game is already planning the future. The fifth Season will bring the addition of Doctrine, a new support character, along with significant modifications for Sombra and Roadhog. This season will also mark the arrival of the Observatory: Grimsvötn map and the end of the Talon Reign, representing the first annual narrative arc in Overwatch history.
The next Overwatch-focused event, called Overwatch: Spotlight, where Blizzard usually presents new features, is scheduled for February 2027.
