Unreleased music unites Luiz Melodia and Russo Passapusso in posthumous partnership recorded by BaianaSystem

The archive of Luiz Melodia, who lived from 1951 to 2017, still contains notable works, one of which was released in the second half of October. This song is titled “Brasil zerado” and establishes a posthumous collaboration between the Rio de Janeiro composer and Russo Passapusso, vocalist and lyricist of the band BaianaSystem.

The lyrics of “Brasil zerado” were originally written by Melodia approximately fifteen years ago. Later, Passapusso gave it the melody, and the track was recorded by the band based in Salvador (Bahia). It is worth noting that Melodia had already shown interest in the city of Salvador, even receiving the title of Citizen of Salvador in September 2012, granted by the Municipal Chamber of the Capital of Bahia. This project marks the first collaboration between the two artists.

In the lyrics of “Brasil zerado,” Luiz Melodia describes a lyrical self who is in a state of disorientation, discouragement, and disillusionment regarding the path Brazil is taking. The composition, which is unreleased, received musical production from Kassin and Pedro Luís.
