Mentalize Clinic in Porto Velho Centralizes Seven Mental Health Specialties in a Single Location

The Mentalize Psychology and Health Clinic, established on June 13, 2025, initially operated with three consultation rooms, featuring four psychologists and offering psychotherapy and music therapy services.

Fourteen months after its founding, on August 15, 2026, the clinic moved to its own headquarters located at Rua Buenos Aires, 2250, in the Embratel neighborhood. This new space has ten consultation rooms, two reception areas, a children's waiting room, and is accessible, having received approval from the Sanitary Surveillance department.

Eligiane Verneque, founder of Mentalize, highlighted that the move aimed to translate care into the physical environment as well, planning every detail, such as comfort and the children's waiting room, so that anyone arriving at the location would feel welcomed from the entrance.

The services offered by the clinic are private and outpatient, covering seven distinct areas. These include Psychology, which encompasses individual, child, couple, and perinatal psychotherapy, utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Analysis, ABA, and Person-Centered Approach; Psychiatry; Neuropsychology, focused on assessment, reporting, and cognitive rehabilitation for children, adolescents, and adults; Speech Therapy, treating oral and written language, ASD, and child development; Psychopedagogy, dedicated to learning difficulties; Nutrition, which deals with clinical nutrition, dietary re-education, and food selectivity in ASD; and General Medicine.

The multidisciplinary team consists of psychologists registered with CRP-24, a psychiatrist, and a physician with CRM, a neuropsychologist, a speech therapist with CRFa, nutritionists with CRN, and psychopedagogues.

The differential of the Mentalize model lies in the continuity of treatment, not just the building. For example, a child referred by school due to reading problems can receive speech therapy, neuropsychological assessments, and psychopedagogical follow-up in the same place, allowing professionals to share information about the case. If psychiatric or nutritional intervention is needed, the referral is made internally, eliminating the need for new searches, queues, or restarting the patient's history.

Regarding neuropsychological evaluation, the process involves an initial interview, application of standardized tests, analysis of results, and delivery of a report with recommendations, which is subsequently discussed with the entire team responsible for monitoring.

For substance dependence cases, the clinic offers outpatient care for both the individual and the family, using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. This work is structured around three pillars: support for those wishing to stop using substances, relapse prevention—a phase where many treatments fail—and psychological support for family members, given that often the user's social circle is the first to seek help.

It is important to note that the service is strictly outpatient; the clinic does not perform hospitalizations, detoxifications, or function as a therapeutic community, keeping care organized in scheduled sessions and coordinated with psychiatry and general medicine as indicated.

Mentalize's future plans include hiring more mental health specialists, such as endocrinologists, neurologists, and occupational therapists. Furthermore, the clinic plans to develop the land adjacent to the headquarters in three ways: a space for group therapy, intended for demands such as parental training, social skills, and family support; an area to offer courses and training in mental health, directed at professionals and schools; and a structure to host events and collective activities.
