Unifacs is promoting the Pink October Pet initiative, a campaign dedicated to preventing problems related to the mammary glands and reproductive system of female dogs and cats.
The free activities are scheduled to take place in different locations across Bahia. In Salvador, services will be available on October 15th and 16th, while in Feira de Santana, the campaign will run from the 19th to the 30th of the same month.
Throughout the campaign period, animals will receive a physical examination. If necessary, owners will be duly informed about the possibility of undergoing additional tests and receiving specialized follow-up.
Furthermore, the schedule includes detailed guidance on sterilization, taking into account aspects such as the species, age, and specific health conditions of each animal. The campaign also serves to raise awareness about the dangers associated with the uncontrolled use of hormonal contraceptives in dogs and cats.
