Security Operation Intensified on Roads Between Moju and Belém During Círio 2026

As part of the preparations for the Círio de Nazaré 2026, security measures will be strengthened on road sections used by pilgrims traveling to Belém. The enhanced measures are planned for the period from October 5th to 9th, with special attention given to the stretch between Moju and the state capital of Pará.

This campaign includes the distribution of reflective vests and flashlights, as well as ensuring the availability of ambulances, rescue teams, and patrols to monitor traffic.

The concessionaire Rota do Pará, responsible for the 'Rota da Fé' campaign, will distribute 2,500 reflective vests and 2,500 flashlights free of charge to pilgrims along the entire route. The operation began on September 28th, when 20,000 items with safety instructions were distributed.

The section between Moju and Belém requires increased attention due to the large number of people who travel this route on foot or by bicycle. Throughout the operation, traffic patrols and ambulances with medical staff will be available to provide assistance.

To reduce the probability of road accidents, drivers are advised to slow down when encountering groups of pilgrims, maintain distance from those moving on the shoulder, avoid overtaking in areas with poor visibility, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving.

Pilgrims should walk on the shoulder or stay as far away from the roadway as possible. It is also recommended that they wear light-colored clothing, reflective vests, and flashlights during nighttime and early morning hours, and avoid traveling alone in dark areas.

Bicyclists and pedestrians must also pay close attention to approaching vehicles and not occupy lanes designated for traffic movement.

Douglas Silva, Operations Manager for Rota do Pará, advises drivers to 'double their attention, slow down in areas with pilgrims, maintain a safe distance from the shoulder, and never perform risky overtakes or use the phone while driving.' He also emphasizes that pilgrims should always walk on the shoulder or within the road's right-of-way.

Support and Emergency Assistance Points

During the mobilization period, pilgrims can utilize the User Service located near Toll Gate 8 on Viaduto. This area will be equipped with water, restrooms, and Wi-Fi access.

In case of emergencies or incidents on the roads, the concessionaire's service operates 24/7 at 0800 150 1150 via call or WhatsApp.
