Procon in Teresina closed gym for operating without official registration

The gym in the Leste Teresina Zone was closed on Thursday (the 1st) because it was operating without proper registration with the Regional Council for Physical Education of the 15th Region (CREF-15).

This decision was made during an inspection conducted in June by consumer protection and professional category authorities.

During the inspection, the gym received a notice and was given a period of 15 working days to provide defense or report on measures taken to legalize the situation. However, according to Procon, this deadline expired without the institution providing any response.

Before announcing the closure, the body checked the public registry of CREF-15 and confirmed that the company still lacks regular registration.

Procon specified that the violation is related specifically to the company's registration, not to the individual qualifications of the specialists working at the location.

Resumption of operations depends on legalization

The gym will remain closed until it provides Procon and the Ministry of Public Prosecution of Piauí (MPPI) with documents confirming its legalization in accordance with CREF-15.

After submitting the necessary documentation, the body can re-examine the case and decide on the resumption of the gym's activities.

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Higher Education Denies Rumors of Ban on Students from India and Bangladesh

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan issued a statement denying reports about introducing a ban on admitting international students from India and Bangladesh. The department called such messages circulating on social media unreliable.

According to information provided by the ministry's press service, starting from the current academic year, the process of admitting foreign applicants is carried out through the centralized electronic system 'Study in Uzbekistan'. This platform provides the opportunity to obtain all necessary information about universities, available educational programs, required qualifications, and tuition fees in one place. Furthermore, the system allows for remote application submission and tracking the status of submitted applications.

The main goal of implementing this system is to ensure transparency in the admission process and eliminate the need for applicants to interact with intermediaries. Registration on this platform is free.

The official message emphasizes that Uzbekistan seeks not to restrict the influx of foreign students, but rather to promote its increase. The main priority is expanding regional coverage for admissions, actively promoting Uzbekistan as an attractive destination for education, and supporting the stable growth of educational services export.

Regarding admission quotas, each university independently sets limits based on the availability of classroom space, laboratory equipment, faculty staff, and dormitory places. Applicants are strongly advised to use only the official platform and refrain from paying intermediary services. If any difficulties arise, they should contact the channels provided by the platform itself.

Previously, a scheme was uncovered in Tashkent related to the illegal acquisition of SAT international exam results, which is used for admission to both local and foreign educational institutions. Under this scheme, tasks for applicants were completed remotely by third parties for a fee.
