Simespi Campaign Raises Over One Ton of Food for the Community

The Food Collection Campaign, organized by Comespi (Executive Women's Council) of Simespi (the employers' union of metalworking industries in Piracicaba, Saltinho, and Rio das Pedras), achieved a total of over one ton of solidarity in observance of Volunteer Day. The initiative took place from August 15th to September 15th, mobilizing affiliated companies and resulting in the collection of 1,072.25 kilograms of food, plus 158 liters of products.

The joint effort of companies and employees generated a direct positive impact on the community. 31 different types of items were collected, forming various baskets containing basic foodstuffs such as rice, beans, pasta, sugar, flour, milk, coffee, biscuits, sauces, canned goods, and spices.

In detail, only rice reached the mark of 492 kilograms collected. Furthermore, 176 kilograms of beans, 130 kilograms of sugar, 109 kilograms of pasta, and 62 kilograms of wheat flour were gathered. Also collected were 131 liters of oil and 27 liters of milk, among other supplies.

Elisângela Libardi, coordinator of Comespi, emphasized that this achievement demonstrates the potential for great results derived from small actions when there is unity between companies and individuals with a common goal. She stressed that exceeding the one-ton mark proves the strength of this collaboration, transforming into practical aid for those in need.

Mobilization in Companies

Since the beginning of the campaign, Comespi has worked to facilitate and encourage the participation of associated companies. To this end, collection boxes, posters, and digital materials were distributed, allowing each company to establish its own collection point and engage its employees. Simespi also served as the central location for receiving donations.

Several companies actively participated in the mobilization, including Aferitec, ARJ Indústria, Atomat, Dedini, Eacial, EB Bombas, EB Sopradores, Fast Work, Fundiart, JRA Indústria, LGMT, Metalúrgica Ceres, Molas Piracicaba, Oxicorte, Piracicaba Eletrodiesel, Tecnal, Tecparts, Thermotech, TR Equipamentos, Turbimaq, UCAF, Varixx, Wipro, and Unimed Piracicaba.

The campaign was launched during Volunteer Month with the aim of promoting social responsibility and bringing closer the chances of solidarity participation in the workplace. The great adherence of the associates confirmed the principle of the initiative: that solidarity drives industry. Elisângela added that, besides the numbers, the involvement of people is the most valuable, as every contributed item helped build the result, making volunteering transformative. There are plans to repeat the action in 2027, aiming for greater corporate participation.

The collected donations have already been partially delivered to the Society São Vicente de Paulo (Vicentinos), and the remainder will be destined for the Social Solidarity Fund of Piracicaba (FUSSP).
